Football for Peace
International teams to compete in Jakarta tournament

Uni Papua Football Community and its parent organization International Indonesia Generation Foundation (ID Gen) will hold an international eleven-a-side football tournament on May 20-21 in Jakarta to commemorate National Awakening Day and Uni Papua’s aim to promote world peace through football.
International teams from the People’s Republic of China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Colombia, Kuwait, Palestine, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Sudan, Iraq, Morocco, Oman, Timor-Leste, Iran, and the International communities of Europe and Asia, will take part.
The knockout stages will start on May 20 at Soemantri Brojonegoro football field, Kuningan, Central Jakarta, with the semi-finals and final taking place on May 20, as well as the Peace Festival exhibition game between the White Team and the Red Team Exhibition, 11 vs 11, involving players from all participating teams.
Uni Papua Football Community is a social football organization established in 2013, which focuses on fostering character and human values for sustainable social change through football.
Uni Papua has been a member of FIFA’s Football for Hope since 2014. It has developed from Papua to Aceh and 12 provinces in Indonesia as well as several overseas branches: Uni Papua in Helsinki, Finland; Uni Papua Philadelphia and Michigan in the US; Uni Papua in Osaka, Japan; and a representative office in London.
The goals of Football for Peace are:
1. Campaigning for peace through football (first event in Indonesia)
2. Building and maintaining friendships between Indonesia and friendly countries as well as the International communities.
3. Commemorating National Awakening Day (Hari Kebangkitan Nasional Indonesia)
4. Promoting humanitarian and social values through football.
Entry tickets will be in the form of a Football for Peace bracelet/rubber band, which can be obtained at the committee’s desk at the entrance of Soemantri Brojonegoro football field.
Uni Papua FC, under its parent ID Gen, develops character building through creativity, media, film, social, entrepreneurship, coaching and mentoring, as well as management and agent services.
Uni Papua Football Community has received full support from the Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Indonesia since January.
