Gaurav Gupta is the President Director of General Motors in Indonesia since Aug’15. He is responsible for the transforming GM’s overall operations and strengthening of Chevrolet in Indonesia.
Gaurav brings in diverse experience as a result of his association in automotive (GM), consumer-electronics (Sony) and business consulting (Deloitte) industries across Asia Pacific and Middle-East. Gaurav has been with GM since 1997 and has served in India, China, Singapore and Vietnam. Last he served as MD for GM Vietnam where he was awarded the Government’s Medal of Appreciation for the development of Industry and Trade of Vietnam.
Gaurav served as the Chairman of the board at AmCham in Hanoi during 2014 and 2015. In addition, he participated in various government dialogue platforms i.e. Vietnam Business Forum, Vietnam Automotive Manufacturer’s Association and was also involved in the lead up for TPP.
Gaurav is committed to further enhancing the engagement and service to the members through his role at AmCham Indonesia. As amongst the few Asian candidates running for the board, he would bring in a fresh perspective and a diverse skill set to the board.
Gaurav has an MBA degree, is married and is based in Jakarta. He enjoys outdoor activities besides devoting his time in personal charity initiatives.
