AmCham Indonesia - Ending Workplace TB Virtual Roundtable
Oct 12, 2021 / 09:00 - 10:30

Dear AmCham Members & Friends,

Please save the date and join us for the AmCham Indonesia - Ending Workplace TB Virtual Roundtable, scheduled to be held on October 12.

Tuberculosis (TB) has killed more people over the last decade than any other infectious disease. Indonesia has the second-highest burden of disease in the world. In 2019, 850,000 people fell ill with TB and over 100,000 died from it. With the Covid-19 pandemic, the world has recognized the importance of the workplace as a location for the spread – as well as prevention – of infectious diseases.

AmCham Indonesia, together with Ending Workplace TB (EWTB), will be hosting a virtual roundtable, bringing together experts and business leaders to discuss TB in Indonesia and the role companies can play in addressing it. We will have Bapak Arifin Panigoro (Chair of Stop TB Partnership Indonesia) delivering the keynote speech and a panel discussion with the National TB Programme Manager, and a case study by Freeport Mc-Moran and Johnson & Johnson.

We believe the private sector can play a defining role in overcoming the disease, by leveraging the untapped potential of businesses around the world to reach millions of workers and their communities and drive new progress in the highest-burden areas.

We hope you can join the discussion.

Please register using the link below and a confirmation e-mail will then be sent to you.

Ending Workplace TB (EWTB) was launched at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting at Davos-Klosters in January 2020 at an event featuring private sector companies (including Johnson & Johnson, Fullerton Health, and Royal Philips); technical agencies (the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Stop TB Partnership) and leaders in workplace health programming (including the Confederation of Indian Industry). The intention was to create an initiative that would bring new partners to the fight against TB.
