(IN-PERSON) Services Committee Meeting

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

In an earlier communication I mentioned that time really seems to be flying, and a look today at the calendar leaves little, if any, room (at least for me) to come up with any different interpretation. I suppose that I am not the only one who is feeling this way, but I am also sure, that all of us agree, we just can’t surrender to this rapid calendar meltdown.

Considering our bi-monthly attempt, to share the most up to date observations, expectations and concerns regarding the business environment we are exposed to, and to have that great opportunity, to establish valuable, personal contacts, also outside our gathering, I am asking you, our regular participants, but also potential newcomers to our “casual, around the table exchanges,” to please reserve Wednesday, November 1, at 08:00, for the final 2023 AmCham Services Breakfast.

In addition to the individual input from all participants, we will also be taking “the temperature” as far as expectations for 2024, a certainly challenging year, are concerned. Our January 2023 numbers showed 85 percent positive (optimistic), 15 percent neutral and zero percent negative votes, while our last effort to establish the business climate, produced only 18 percent optimistic (positive), 14 percent pessimistic (negative) and 68 percent neutral results. Interesting, to say the least!

For potential newcomers to the Services Breakfast, the business sectors traditionally gathered around the table range from banking, insurance, security, tax and legal consultants, real estate, hospitality and relocation, to information technology, media services, education, financial services, communication, industrial services, infrastructure, robotics, energy efficiency, recruitment, executive search, consultancies of various backgrounds, and all traditionally rounded off with input from the US Embassy.

Please be so kind to confirm your participation in the coming event with the AmCham office – but please only if you are really intending to join – and be prepared to provide us (the office, myself) with a short, written summary of your input, so that we can, afterwards, incorporate your contributions into the minutes of the meeting.
