The AmCham Indonesia Career Fair returned on Aug31-Sept 1 following the success of last year's event. Hosted with @america, the event brought hundreds of eager youth and young professionals together with 12 major multinational companies.
The first day kicked off with welcoming remarks from AmCham Indonesia Managing Director A Lin Neumann, while the second day was opened by US Embassy Counselor for Public Diplomacy Jason Rebholz, alongside AmCham Indonesia Education and Workforce Development Committee Co-Chair Maya Nelson.
A highlight of the event was the speaker sessions, where prominent industry professionals shared their experiences and gave advice to young professionals hoping to make it in the working world.
During the first session, participants heard from the Boeing Company Indonesia Managing Director Zaid Alami, PepsiCo Indonesia Director of Government Affairs & Corporate Communications Gabrielle Anggraini, and Apple Developer Academy Design Mentor Phil Wira. The session was moderated by Partner at SSEK Law Firm and AmCham Board Member Stephen Warroka.
The second session brought together Cargill Country HR Director Maris Rahadiyan with Honeywell Southeast Asia Lead Strategic Marketing and Business Development Manager Iqbal Akbar, and was moderated by and Mars Wrigley Indonesia Corporate Affairs Director Cocoa and Corporate Citizenship Committee Chair Jeffrey Haribowo.
Participants also raved about the mock interview and CV review sessions, which they said provided them with the opportunity to receive input directly from human resources (HR) and recruitment professionals, which they hoped could help them in taking the next step in their careers.
AmCham Indonesia would like to thank our main supporters for the event, Platinum Member participants Cargill and PepsiCo; and Gold Member participants the Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS), ExxonMobil, Honeywell, Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS), and RSM. We would also like to thank our Silver Member participants the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Apple Developer Academy, Colliers, Starbucks, and Vision-Ease.
