AmCham’s Services Committee hosted its first in-person breakfast meeting on Sept 28, after more than two years doing virtual "breakfast without breakfast." Committee Chair Peter Meyer, greeted the participants, comprising of long-standing Services Committee members, as well as some new faces.
The discussion revolves around the newly passed Personal Data Protection law and its impact to different business sectors. Participants also gave updates on the situation of their respective industry, noting that businesses are getting back to normal, but not yet reaching pre-pandemic level. The meeting also discussed AmCham's previous engagements with the new chief of the Financial Services Authorityu (OJK), Mahendra Siregar.
The overall “temperature take” from participants maintained a quite positive number, with 58 percent holding a positive outlook, 34 percent so-so, and only 8 percent negative.
