AmCham Indonesia held its first in-person Tax Committee event on Oct 7, which focused on the Indonesian tax audit process. The event featured the Director of Tax Audit and Collection at Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) Dodik Samsu Hidayat; Head of Markets, Partner at PwC Ay Tjhing Phan; and Tax Director, Asia Pacific & Japan at HP William Wang. The session discussed tax audit best practices, and also demystified the audit process.
The meeting kicked off with opening remarks from Tax Committee Co-Chair and Technical Advisor and Partner at PwC Brian Arnold, followed by a presentation from Dodik on tax audit policy updates. This was followed by additional presentations from Ay Tjhing and William on best practices for abiding with tax obligations and tax audits from the perspectives of the companies.
The meeting continued with a lively discussion session, where companies had an opportunity to share their concerns and seek clarifications on tax audit-related issues, followed by closing remarks from Committee Co-Chair and Asean Resources, International Tax and Transaction Services Leader, Partner at EY Benjamin Koesmoeljana.
AmCham Indonesia would like to extend our thanks to the Directorate General of Taxes, and hopes this can be the starting point for further engagements in the future.
