In light of a more severe COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, AmCham Indonesia invites you to join our latest healthcare forum, Coping with COVID’s Aggressive Growth in Indonesia, on Thursday, February 18 at 10 am.

Joining us in this meeting are a number of medical experts:

  • Bapak Doni Monardo – Head of National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and COVID-19 National Task Force*
  • Dr Pandu Riono, MPH, PhD - Epidemiologist

We believe the forum will provide a fresh update on the COVID-19 situation in Indonesia, which is crucial in corporate health and safety responses in 2021. With guests from different fields – the government, an epidemiologist, public hospitals, private hospitals and foreign clinics – we hope the discussion will bring rich perspectives on the pandemic and what the private sectors can do to support the healthcare services sector in mitigating the severe impacts of the pandemic.

Doni Monardo*

Head of National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and COVID-19 National Task Force

Lieutenant General Doni Monardo is the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) since 2019. He graduated from the Indonesian Military Academy in 1985 and is serving in the Indonesian Army ever since. He has received various awards, including Bintang Jasa Utama, Bintang Yudha Dharma Pratama, Bintang Kartika Eka Paksi Pratama, Bintang Yudha Dharma Nararya and Bintang Kartika Eka Paksi Nararya.

Dr. Pandu Riono, MPH,Ph.D

Epidemiologist

Dr. Pandu Riono, MPH,Ph.D is an epidemiologist and teaches courses such as statistical modelling, epidemiology statistics HIV-AIDS and contagious diseases at the Faculty of Public Health in Universitas Indonesia. He earned his master’s degree in Biostatistics from the University of Pittsburg in 1989 and his PhD in Epidemiology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2001. He has published numerous academic publications on contagious diseases in Indonesia.

Dr. Lia G. Partakusuma*

Secretary General of the Indonesian Hospitals Association (PERSI)

Dr. Lia G. Partakusuma is the Secretary General of Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI). She is currently the Supporting Director of Harapan Kita Cardio Hospital. Previously, dr. Partakusuma was the Director of Medic and Nursing of Fatmawati Hospital, General Director of Persahabatan Hospital and spent several years practicing in Bukit Raya Sub-District Public Health Center (Puskesmas) in Riau Province. Dr. Partakusuma has been an active member of several medical associations, including Asian Society of Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (ASCPaLM), World Association of Societies of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (WASPaLM) and Medical Manager Doctor Association Indonesia. Dr. Partakusuma has a Doctoral medical degree from Gajah Mada University, Jogjakarta.

Varun Khanna is the Chief Commercial Officer of Siloam Hospitals. Previously he served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Fortis Healthcare, Co-Chair of FICCI Health Services, Advisor at Private Equity, Managing Director of BD, the Chair of the India Working Committee at AdvaMed, Treasurer at NATHEALTH - Healthcare Federation of India, National Executive Board at AmCham India, Chief Operating Officer - Mumbai and Maharashtra at Etisalat, Assistant Vice President at Reliance Retail, Business Head – Prepaid at Reliance Communications and Head CIG at Airtel.

 

Richard Jones

Technical Advisor of SOS Medika Clinics/International SOS Jakarta

Dr. Richard Jones is the Technical Advisor of SOS Medika Clinics/ International SOS Jakarta. He has led several International SOS medical service teams in various countriesDr Jones also has experience in planning and implementing primary and emergency healthcare wellness systems. He also possesses significant knowledge about occupational health strategies.
