HR Virtual Forum
Jul 28, 2020 / 09:00 - 10:30

Dear AmCham Members and Friends,

Last month the HR group of Amcham had an excellent session on the legal aspects of COVID-19 and application in Companies with back to work expectations.

The challenge in its early days is the fine line of legal responsibility in Indonesia and those more widely expected of international companies of defining better/ adequate practices for workplace health and safety - the challenge compounded by the lack of actual proper medical support- doctors, nurses and medical information. Significant productivity is at risk as well as possible legal risks on directions taken.

Hospitals are overwhelmed, is sending a person home with COVID-19 symptoms enough? Is there a need for monitoring a broader set of vitals? What is deemed adequate distancing in the workplace? How do companies make informed medical decisions with better knowledge? How do you collect information on employee health/ sick leaves? How do you deal with rapid test identification and then wait time for full tests? Can you adequately separate teams so not to have to close down whole factories?

We are holding our next AmCham HR Virtual forum as a round table with panelists from different specialized areas.
