Initiative Indonesia Business Mission: Shaping Tomorrow: Advancing AI, Emerging Technologies, and Healthcare - April 2026
Apr 28, 2026 / 09:00 - 17:00

Dear AmCham and Initiative Members,

The US Chamber of Commerce and AmCham Indonesia will host an in-person business mission, “Shaping Tomorrow: Advancing AI, Emerging Technologies, and Healthcare,” on April 28-30, in Jakarta. The mission will serve as a platform to discuss priority developments in emerging technologies and healthcare, while fostering engagement between government officials, policy experts, and US and international industry leaders, against the backdrop of the recent signing of the US–Indonesia Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART).

Digital technology and healthcare have emerged as two key sectors undergoing significant regulatory reform and heightened policy attention. Indonesia continues to strengthen frameworks for artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, alongside broader efforts in digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data governance. At the same time, the healthcare sector is prioritizing system strengthening, service delivery, and expanded private sector participation. As implementing regulations are developed, close coordination between policymakers and industry will be essential to ensure clarity, practicality, and sustained investment.

We invite you to participate in this three-day mission, which will combine high-level policy dialogues with targeted sector engagements, providing participants the opportunity to exchange views directly with key decision-makers and regulators shaping Indonesia’s digital and healthcare ecosystems.

The mission will cover key issues, including:

AI & Emerging Technologies

  • Development of Indonesia’s national AI strategy, including alignment with global standards and principles for responsible AI governance
  • Cross-sector implementation considerations, including the foundational enablers needed to support AI adoption
  • Strategies to mobilize investment and financing for innovative and emerging technologies

Healthcare

  • Implementation of Law 17/2023 on Health and next phase health system reforms
  • Digital health transformation, interoperability, and adoption of AI and emerging technologies in service delivery
  • Regulatory pathways and market access considerations for pharmaceuticals and medical devices
