(IN-PERSON) Energy Transition Committee Kick-Off Meeting - February 2024
February 23, 2024 | by AmCham Webmaster

The AmCham Indonesia Energy Transition (ET) Committee held its kick-off meeting on Feb 21, with a particular focus on the regulatory environment surrounding carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Indonesia. The goal of the session was to provide participants with valuable insight on how these regulations might affect industry practices and promote constructive dialogue in achieving sustainable energy solutions.

Executive Director of the Indonesia CCS Center (ICCSC) Dr Belladonna Troxylon Maulianda, highlighted the significance of CCS, its progress within Indonesia, and the regulatory framework. Participants raised questions about government-to-government (G2G) and business-to-government (B2G) partnership mechanisms in CCS investments, regulatory considerations for foreign emitters, cross-border carbon transactions, and the challenges in positioning Indonesia as a regional carbon storage hub.

Results from a committee survey were also shared, highlighting the importance of the energy transition and identifying priority issues among AmCham members. For inquiries on the ET Committee, please contact Pat Puspitasari at [email protected]
